Ficus Capital pours $400k into Indonesian AR Firm Assemblr

Ficus Capital, today announced that it has invested US400,000 through its Ficus SEA Fund in Assemblr, an augmented reality (AR) platform company. Assemblr is a Bandung-based start-up that is focused on helping users to create AR content via its web-based platform.

"We have seen the emergence of augmented reality in various fields, especially in gaming, advertising and entertainment. The demand will get bigger as the world prepares for what the metaverse will bring. Assemblr is an intuitive single-platform tool that can provide users with engaging augmented reality and virtual reality content, making it accessible to everyone to create an immersive real-life virtual experience," said Abdullah Hidayayt, Managing Partner, Ficus Capital.

Ficus Capital has announced its flagship RM60 million fund, Ficus SEA, with a focus on investment in the Southeast Asian region. Mavcap is the fund's anchor investor. This is Ficus Capital's first investment for a start-up based outside of Malaysia. Ficus Capital is the world's first shariah-compliant venture capitalist.

Co-founded by Hasbi Asyadiq, Anita Yustisia and Risnandar in 2018, Assemblr is an augmented reality online platform that creates, discovers, and shares AR experiences for businesses, students and personal users. The platform allows users to build and visualize their own world and place it in real-life settings with only a few taps, dragging and dropping on their computing devices. These young founders aim to make AR accessible for everyone on a single cloud platform. Assemblr currently has more than 2 million projects created, globally.
