The Body Shop will buy 600 tons of waste plastic next year, and wants competitors to follow

  • British beauty company The Body Shop is sourcing plastic waste from trash-pickers in Bangalore, India, as part of its Community Fair Trade program.

  • The firm is encouraging competitors to source plastic in this way so that suppliers can work with several customers, via organization Plastics For Change.

  • Brazilian cosmetics giant Natura & Co bought The Body Shop in 2017 and the two are working together on sustainable sourcing, led by Mark Davis.
